INJEX certified for the global automotive industry
INJEX has received an international certification that allows it to enter the regular supplier lists of car manufacturers. The company was certified in accordance with the IATF 16949 standard, which is mandatory in the demanding and competitive market in which automotive industry manufacturers and their suppliers fit.
“It is a moment of great joy, which consolidates INJEX as a manufacturer of parts for the global automotive industry, in accordance with the most advanced requirements in the sector”, says José Duarte Pinheiro de Lacerda, founder and CEO of the company.
“Today we can say to our ‘stakeholders’ that INJEX’s quality management system is on a highly specialized level, in accordance with the highest standards of the world automotive industry”, adds Pinheiro de Lacerda, stating that this is a condition which places the factory “in a very restricted group of companies in the context of all the manufacturers and suppliers of the automotive industry in Portugal”.
The IATF (The International Task Force), an entity that helps the automotive industry develop quality products, launched its first edition of IATF 16949 in October 2016. Setting the standard for an advanced quality management system in the automotive industry, IATF 16949: 2016 replaces an ISO/TS 16949 standard.
The IATF 16949: 2016 certification – which is in line with an ISO 9001 standard, respecting it’s structure and requirements – harmonizes assessment and certification across the global automotive supply chain, ensuring that holders of the adoption of management systems certification of quality oriented towards continuous improvement, towards the reduction of variations in production and waste, as well as towards the focus on the prevention of defects, in a global perspective and along the entire value chain.
An automotive company that acquires an IATF 16949 certification must also comply with ISO 9001, which INJEX began to comply with in 2008 – five years after the company’s founding.
Since then, INJEX’s business relationship with the automotive industry has developed, which is now consolidated with an IATF 16949 certification.
To get here, INJEX has come a long way, having surpassed the different levels of value generation, namely the production of components, the construction of molds, the development of processes, the study and design of products, 3D printing, the certified product (Finnish certification service) and continued growth in exports.
Working for many years in the automotive sector, INJEX produces millions of parts for different brands, namely Peugeot, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes Benz.
